I travel for work all over Australia and can honestly say this was one of the best, if not the best, hotel stays I've had. The room was spotless, comfortable and had everything I needed. The complimentary breakfast from Honorbread Bakery was fantastic, and the food downstairs in the bistro was excellent as well. What really made the stay stand out was the staff. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and a special thank you to Jess, who went out of her way to organise the return of a pair of headphones I accidentally left behind. The whole process was quick and hassle-free. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend Bermagui Beach Hotel to anyone visiting the area.
The best service i have ever recieved at a hotel. Friendly, kind, onto it staff, more down to earth than hilton or other luxury hotels, they all deserve a pay rise. Hotel rooms were modern tidy and clean. Given a crossant each day from the local bakery. The staff here truely go above and beyond. Fairly quiet rooms, above the kitchen/bar, but it closes early enough that it's not a problem. Preferred the motel side over the hotel side as rooms were much larger. They also included a beach towel with your normal towels which i thought was a cool touch. Very reasonably priced and they price match for last minute bookings. If we are ever this way again we will 100% be staying here. Great views of the ocean and mountain, walking distance to everything. Sorry about the bad photos, rear cameras broken, but gives you an idea of how close to the beach you are.
I had an unusually sad reason for travel to Bermagui, so sought a quiet, clean and peaceful place to stay. I couldn't have chosen better than the Bermagui Beach Hotel. The room was spotless, noiseless and the provision of fresh croissants and coffee in the room was a generous gesture. Above all, the staff were wonderful, helpful and understanding. I have travelled widely but never have I found such friendliness and compassion.
Accomodation: My husband and I stayed at the Bermagui Beach Hotel for two nights during the March period and we can honestly say that we had a wonderful experience. Firstly, we were particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the room. We are pretty hard markers when it comes to cleanliness so we were very pleased to feel comfortable with the cleanliness as soon as we arrived. The beds were comfortable and spacious. Fresh croissants from the local bakery are provided daily which was a lovely touch. Views from our balcony were beautiful and the hotel sits in a great location right across from the main beach. Dinning: The pub and dinning located downstairs was also wonderful. Great food, service, views and atmosphere. Bermagui: This is our first experience in Bermagui and to be honest, we weren’t expecting this. We were pleasantly surprised with the beauty of this small town. Here are some positive points and recommendations: - Lovely & friendly locals - Boutique shopping - Great for fishing & charters - Beautiful coastal walks - Must visit central Tilba (short drive away) The only negative about this experience is that we could not find barista coffee anywhere in this town after 4pm. It would have been so great if the pub/dinning downstairs had barista made coffee, as we do feel this is so important. Overall, we highly recommend this town, dinning and accomodation to anyone looking for a nice relaxing getaway. The Bermagui Beach Hotel had really made this trip worth while for us.
From the moment I arrived, it was obvious that whoever owns or manages this hotel has impeccable style, wonderful manners and a genuine sense of hospitality. It’s reflected in all the little things that so many places overlook. The aesthetic is beautifully done—think a stylish Surry Hills apartment with QT Hotel vibes. The spaces have been thoughtfully renovated, with all the things that matter updated, while the original features blend seamlessly into the design rather than feeling dated. Check-in was warm, easy and genuinely welcoming. Rather than pointing vaguely in the direction of my room, I was personally walked there, the door was unlocked and opened for me, and I was shown in. Such a small gesture, but it immediately set the tone. The bathroom deserves a special mention. Excellent water pressure, proper old-school hot water (not the lukewarm drizzle that seems to be the norm these days), big, soft, heavy towels, two actual face washers (thank you!), and amenities that not only smell expensive but actually lather and work. Another bonus? No tiny window permanently wedged open letting an icy draft turn the bathroom into a fridge. When I arrived, the room was already beautifully warm with the air-conditioning on, and the TV remote was sitting exactly where you want it—on the bedside table instead of hidden somewhere in the room. Again, thoughtful. The complimentary breakfast touches were equally impressive: a fresh croissant, delicious house-made granola and, importantly, they actually thought to provide everything you need to enjoy them. Good-sized fresh milk, butter, jam, and a coffee machine. It sounds simple, but it’s amazing how many places miss these details. I was initially worried that staying next to the hotel might mean noise. I couldn’t hear a thing. I was also disappointed that I’d missed out on an ocean-view room and wondered whether I’d drawn the short straw—but Room 18 was lovely, and I was genuinely happy with it. Dinner completely exceeded my expectations too. I was expecting standard pub fare but instead had an outstanding tuna tartare and papaya salad, and the cocktails were excellent. In an era where genuine customer service and thoughtful hospitality seem increasingly rare, this place stands out. Every decision feels like it was made by someone who has actually stayed in hotels and understands what makes guests feel welcome.
