Mixed bag for us at this hotel. The rooms are generally nice and beds comfy but you can hear noise from every other room and the bar, there is absolutely no sound proofing. We checked out a day early before the Wednesday night winter party because other guests warned us how bad the noise was on the Saturday night. The first morning I was packing the car at 7:30am and my access card locked me out of the hotel, no one at reception, I eventually found a cleaner that tried to help but I had to block the door with a table so I didn’t get locked out again when loading the car. The bistro food was good, the housekeeping staff were lovely, but as previous review the bar/Outlander staff were not. I ordered a sandwich for my sick hubby and after waiting over 20mins I asked the cook how long it would be and he aggressively answered “it’ll be ready in a minute”, then muttered/swore under his breath. Then snapped “we’re busy you know”. Actually the bar was mostly empty. Suggest the hotel does not employ staff that have no customer service skills. He looked so stressed out. Mind you he did this in front of my 10 year old son. Totally unacceptable! Especially for the ridiculous prices we paid to stay there.
My stay here was great. The room was really clean and comfortable. The bed was soft and comfy. Having restaurants and a bar downstairs was really convenient. A full buffet breakfast was included in the room price and was delicious. Everything was cooked really well and great quality and variety. I will definitely return and would recommend to anyone travelling to Jindabyne.
I had two meals at the Banjo Paterson Inn recently, and both were absolutely superb. For my first visit, I tried the Barra burger – the fish was perfectly crumbed and cooked. Tonight, for St. Patrick's Day, I went with the pork loin, which came on a bed of smooth sweet potato purée with steamed broccoli and braised cabbage. It was sheer perfection. To top off the celebration, I enjoyed a perfect pint of Guinness and a Jameson straight. The food, the drinks, and the great vibe of the place made for an amazing evening. I can only show you an empty plate because it was that good! I highly recommend stopping by.
