Capella Hotel Motel is a country pub on Peak Downs Street in Capella, in Queensland's Central Highlands, with ensuite motel and pub-style rooms. It opened in 1955 on the corner of Crinum Street, on the site of the old Commercial Hotel, which burned down in 1943. Every room has its own ensuite, air conditioning, heating, a TV and tea and coffee making. Options include ground-floor motel rooms with a double and a single bed, ground-floor double rooms with block-out curtains for shift workers, and a private workers' bunkhouse room. The bistro seats diners inside or out, and there's a kids' playground, sports bar, TAB, gaming room and bottle shop. Guests praise the friendly country hospitality and good, generous meals.

After the 1916 flood it was moved from Drummond Street to higher ground on Capella Street, near the railway station, and kept trading through the four-week move. The Criterion Hotel Motel is a historic pub on Quay Street in central Rockhampton, with pub rooms upstairs and modern motel rooms. Built in 1889 on the banks of the Fitzroy River, the hotel has 26 pub rooms upstairs with some old-world character and a mix of ensuites and shared bathrooms. Its 18 motel rooms were added in 2004 beside the Bush Inn Bar & Grill steakhouse and have off-street parking.
