The Criterion Hotel Motel

Looking for a feed after 20:00 in Rockhampton- good luck with that, however, this pub takes orders to I believe 21:00 on weeknights. That is usually after the time that most others are ( as I experienced also) literally asking you to pay the bill and push you out of the doors. So, bonus 1, bonus 2, the pub food was quite OK, the beer selection was-conservative tho'. Bonus 3, nice quaint place with competent staff. So yes, recommend this place.

We really enjoyed ourselves for dinner at this restaurant. We came early at 5:30pm and there were plenty of tables but it quickly got busy. Ribs were nice and soft, steak was unfortunately dry. Everything else was cooked well. The kids nuggets and chips was at the right temperature, not piping hot which was appreciated. We ordered via the QR app and got charged the public holidays surcharge. We spoke with staff and got this reimbursed. Unfortunately i didnt enjoy my service while ordering my drinks at the bar. The two young people serving drinks really need to left their game with service. No smile, no greeting, no thanks.

Fantastic meal, great value. Lemon garlic chicken whilst cooked perfectly could be improved as the lemon is the overpowering taste on an otherwise great meal. Kids pasta was excellent value and tasted great. Sticky date pudding was delicious but might be better served in a bowl. Restaurant hard to understand seating arrangements and seating options are poor, staff were just good (some checked out whilst others going above) and even on a busy night food was prompt.
