A boutique pub on Franklin Street in the middle of Adelaide, with seven rooms sitting above an ever-changing craft beer tap list. Each room is styled differently, with an en suite, split-system air conditioning, a smart TV and local artwork on the walls, plus a communal balcony looking out over the city. Downstairs the kitchen turns out schnitzels, steak sandwiches and fish and chips alongside a rotating chef's menu, and there's a function space for bigger nights.
The best of the seven — rooms 1 and 3. Both have a deep soak bathtub in a generously appointed bathroom, and room 3 adds a double-headed shower. King beds and enough floor space to settle into a chair with a book, under reworked street-lamp lighting in room 3 and a pink powder-coated boom lamp in room 1.
Rooms 2 and 6. Room 2 is built around a large bathroom with a very deep bath and keeps its original stained glass window. Room 6 is one of the largest in the hotel — light and airy on the western side with three big windows, and private enough to disappear into. King beds in both.
Rooms 4, 5 and 7. Queen beds and en suite bathrooms, with work by local artists, rustic timber panelling and colourful lighting giving each one a cosy, lived-in feel. A comfortable base for a night in, or a good launching point for a night out.
Absolutely amazing hotel for a feed. My wife and I had a dinner here prior to going to see Pretty Woman the musical on Friday night. I had the Wagyu beef schnitzel and chips with the traditional gravy 💯 delicious. My wife had the Chicken and mashed potato and she raved how delicious that was. The service was nothing short of incredible. Our waiter was brilliant, a young man that is studying theatre he told us. He didn’t even need to write down our order, he remembered everything. Very impressive. Very neat and clean. We will definitely be coming back to this establishment. Thank you.
This was an absolute pleasant surprise. I booked directly with the hotel seeing the glowing reviews but always had a degree of trepidation due to the fact that sleeping above a pub on a main road may be a bit noisy. What I found was a private entry. An expansive room with a VERY large corner bathroom with royalty sized bath tub. Fantastic! oh and because I booked directly with the hotel they supplied complimentary beverages (coopers - you cant get everything right 😅) and a little bag of snacks which included Tiny Teddy's??? Hilarious! Anyway the pub staff are attentive and helpful. The craft taps were mouthwatering and location is central. Great work team I will be back. PS. the construction site across the road was a bit of a pain in the behind but it's not your fault for the disruption and a few less Z's
One of the last "small-biz" (not owned by a big company) pubs going about. Good service, great craft beer selection and cozy vibes inside. Nice little beer garden out back. Still holds the best schnitty I've had in Adelaide. Cannot recommend enough!
Loved our stay, room was lovely, comfortable, all we needed. Check in was easy and we were personally shown to our room. Loved the goodie bag and complimentary mini bar drinks. Service was exceptional, so friendly and efficient. Nice to have the pub downstairs, great vibe, and we didn't hear a sound from our room. Would definitely stay again!
This review is for the bar only. It is right in the heart of the city. A really marvellous experience. The bartenders are welcoming, professional and proficient with a varied array of beers and wines, but most importantly (for me) draught Guinness. Yes, it’s not brewed in Dublin, but it is rather good. The place has a very good and chilled ambiance with great decor, but the bartenders make it a bit special. Definitely worth a visit
