Stopped for lunch at the dog friendly Boatrowers and joyed at the service, the beer and food quality! The Old was delicious, the fish and chips beautifully cooked with a simple, fresh salad and the rare rump masterfully grilled. 5 star hoorah!

We had lunch here today with a group of eight on an incredibly hot day. When I made the booking, the staff thoughtfully placed us in a private area with air conditioning, which made all the difference. The meals were plentiful, tasty, and excellent value for money. The staff checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed, without being intrusive. Thank you to the Boat Rowers Hotel for a wonderful experience — we will definitely be back.

The Boatrowers was really fantastic, especially for a solo traveler or couple. The rooms are humble but fabulously clean & include a full length mirror, manual heating/AC, television & a comfy spacious bed. The shared bathroom has one toilet available & two showers with really good hot water flow. It’s located a beautiful walk along the water front to the Stockton Ferry only 1.5 - 2km ~ ish away & should take 20 min quick or 25 min steady. Staff also let me check-in super early around 11:00am as soon as the room was available. Can’t speak highly enough of this, also with a cute cafe downstairs with coffee & treats. Thank you for a simple, wonderful stay!☺️

Thanks to the staff at the Boatrowers Hotel, they accommodated our group of 20 friends to have a very nice lunch there on 12 Feb 2026. The organisation was great and we felt very comfortable and relaxed there. 👌👍🙂

Retro and salt of the Earth. Full of regulars and wonderful service. Menu seemed basic but looked good quality.
