Loved this place, I had the best laugh with the manager Rory, what a great guy. So glad I stopped here for the night on my way out of Sydney. Brilliant food as well completely divine for a pub feed and I've had my fair share as a truckie.
My experience at the hotel pub is excellent because of Yash. This young pub manager offered to help me in an unfortunate moment when my flight was cancelled and I had to look for a room at the last minute. I recently stayed at a nearby pub which I later found out is owned by the same owner as the Mortdale. Even though it didn't have a room and was busy at the time as it was dinner time, he handled it professionally and was very kind. He saw that I was stressed and reassured me by offering me a glass of water and helping me find a room elsewhere, something he was not obliged to do. I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel next time because I have been working in the hospitality industry for years and I can see the professionalism of someone.
My partner and I stayed in the accomodation at Mortdale Hotel and honestly we were very surprised, the rooms were renovated about a year ago and they are great! Clean, tidy and spacious. Our room came with TV to watch netflix, YouTube, etc and aircon worked well to keep the room cool. The bed was EXTREMELY COMFY. Very soft like sleeping on a cloud. The service from staff was really nice and they were happy to assist us however we needed. Yes, the location is a touch far from the CBD but you have the train station just across the road and takes about half hour train to Sydney Station and the trains are not loud at all so you can get a good night's sleep. Though the location is a bit out of the way you have some really great cafes for brunch just down the street and restaurants for dinner, there's a local IGA and BWS aswell so really you have practically everything a stones throw away. Considering you have a pub underneath you, you cannot hear the noise whatsoever and we were extremely happy with that. Honestly we were very happy with our room and at the price point in Sydney, we recommend anyone to stay here and if you dont mind catching a train to the city it really is such a great hotel to stay in.
Clean. Large room. Huge king bed. Modern bathroom. Great location. Close to train station and many shops and restaurants. Free parking nearby.
Within 200 km of Mortdale — for the road trippers.
